Who knew that the end of the rainbow was right here in New York City? Perhaps this means we'll all begin to have some good luck... I just wish I had been able to pick up the colors better in these pictures, taken hastily in the street - I was extremely excited, but everyone else was rushing by under umbrellas and seemed not to notice. It was a bit surreal but I was very grateful that I happened to be walking uptown at that time!
* for those of you who didn't grow up with sentimental verses by Wordsworth:
My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky;
So was it when my life began;
So is it now I am a man;
So be it when I shall grow old,
Or let me die!
The Child is father of the Man;
And I could wish my days to be
Bound each to each by natural piety.
There were rainbows all over the city yesterday late afternoon! I spent a good 15 mins. running from window to window in my building at work admiring them. (I probably shouldn't admit that) Sad that they are so rare here.
