Is it permissible to say "Indian Summer" any more? I'm really not sure...
Anyway, that's certainly what we've been having, though I feel ready for fall to kick in for real. I sometimes forget the obvious fact that autumn means the harvest - I often expect that the greenmarket will be at its most bountiful during summer months, but really that's only the beginning... I ended up not getting to Union Square to buy some produce until yesterday, and was rewarded by a market that seemed almost twice as large as I remember the Monday market normally being - still lots of summer produce (eggplant, peppers, tomatoes, corn) with the addition of all the things I associate with fall, as you can see from the picture above. And bins and bins of apples!
