Good morning,
I think that I haven't been as reliable a blogger over the past week, and it's because I've been absolutely buried in a writing project that I've found it hard to tear myself away from. Yesterday, however, I decided it was finally time to get outside and see the world again, and my favorite way to do that is to go for a long walk.
Sometimes, a friend and I go on what we call "adventure walks," though we aren't nearly as intrepid as we were ten years ago (when we'd often find ourselves lost behind a garbage facility or approaching Laguardia Airport. Yesterday we met up and decided to try to cross a bridge for old times sake, and so across the Queensboro we went, into the semi industrial/residential/commercial worlds of Long Island City and North Brooklyn... and here are a few of the exciting things I saw
(from the pulaski bridge, btwn brooklyn & queens)
Waterfront in an area that realtors are attempting to call "West Greenpoint"
Also along the waterfront...
The church steeples make me feel as though I was approaching a small village, in spite of all the warehouses...
